Performance Art.

If you've ever been to Venice Beach in So. California you may definitely remember this person! His name is:

TONY B. CONSCIOUS

I bought a painting from him about two years ago when I took a trip down to LA with Rachel and Paula entitled, "Urban Angel." He recited this amazing, but very long poem to me about how the angel is supposed to protect women who deal with various urban circumstances in their everyday lives.

Anyway, this same man was sitting outside of the Memorial Union today! I spoke to him for a couple of minutes and he recited, yet, another poem for me, even though I didn't buy any of his art. Lovely to see a familiar face in AZ!

Jam. Jam. Jam Session!

As a follow-up to the rookie challenge, my friends and I decided to take an adventure to downtown Phoenix and go to Jam Session.

Highlights:
-A man takes one look at me, then Francis, and asks Francis if he wants to dance with the Jabbawockeez.
- I see DGatt, for probably, the first time in AZ!
-Kevin Garnett
-I become a Jedi Master
-I am sure my new love (after Mo, Wall-e and Eve, of course!), R2D2 is "motion censored" although he is really controlled by a man that looks like Steve Aoki.
-Cici's!
-I meet "FRIEND" and could swear I know him from somewhere. I later find out he's actually Irv's coworker.
-Dunk challenge!
-Irv and Lauren bring boba!
-Amazing conversation time!

Twitter This, AJ!

SO the most RANDOM and SPONTANEOUS thing I have ever done in AZ happened today:

I didn't even want to go to the PASA meeting but I did but the story starts after!

After the meeting:

AJ: Who wants to go?!? I have an extra ticket!

Instant "No, I have a life." from everyone in the room.

Vinette, although AJ seems to think my name is VAG: "I'll go! I'm down for whatev. Wait, what exactly am I getting myself into? It better not be anything weird."

AJ: Rookie challenge. You have to pay for parking. (In his mind thinking, "Oh god, not VAG")

V: Well, ok, I guess. Is there going to be rockstars there?

AJ: Well, you'll see.

V: No, I mean like Chris Brown status? I mean, nevermind, I don't think that was the appropriate thing to say at this point in time. So I mean like Kobe, my good friend, Bryant?

AJ: You'll see.

V: Ok! Let's go!

So we practically run to the car, print tickets and end up on level BLUE of a parking lot in Phoenix.

HIGHLIGHTS:
-AJ can't drive because of his third party, known as his Crackberry.
-Corbin Bleu performs.
-I understand the concept basketball, kind of.
-Jeff? Geoff?! Like the DJ/host/ microphone holder?
-Shaquille O'Neal
-Derek Rose?
-Morgan Freeman!
-Vic's going away party.
-JDM girl. Wow.
-AZ people learn the term "cupcakin," as exemplified by AJ sitting in his car, on the phone, hiding from the world.

Nothing Like Harry Potter.

My astronomy lab went to the ASU planetarium ( I didn't even know we had one until today!) today during class. I think I expected something more like the Academy of Sciences in San Francisco, but it was nothing like that. It's actually a fairly small room (capacity 50) and the quality is terrible. What kept me awake the most was (A) that I felt like the room kept getting smaller and smaller, (B) the guy running the show sounded like we were in The Haunted House at Disneyland, I thought the room was going to start descending and (C) the room felt like you were in a Gravitron (not quite my thing).

Oh, and I vaguely remember the guy rambling something about how he worked on the Planetarium show at the Academy.

We also went on the roof to measure things.

Zipcar? Zipcar. Zipcar!

Sorry for the double post, but I wanted to let everyone know that: If my application get approved, I get to drive beautiful cars like this around Tempe, AZ!

As If You Just Met Me.

So I did two of these on Facebook, but I realized I never really introduced myself on my blog. The way I see it, people remember the random things as opposed to the general things. So, I thought I'd do this:

1.Arizona is pretty boring, but at least the time gets my homework done. If I were in San Francisco, I'd be out all the time and NOT doing homework.

2. I eat at Manzanita dining hall exclusively for their Orange-Pineapple Crystal Light.  Since I feel that's not worth the 7.50 I paid to eat there, I try to find ways to make up for it. For example, I took to my dorm a salt shaker, pepper shaker, kikkoman, fortune cookie, apple, and two brownies the other day.

3.I think everyone should experience riding a fixed gear bicycle down Market Street in SF one day. It's a TOTAL life experience! (Thanks Julius, Victor, Angelo, Deang and Phil)

4. More then anything in life, I've always wanted to be an Art or Dance Major but I don't have the dedication or talent to go through with either. Although, I am minoring in dance!

5. I chose Broadcast Media as my major because I found it more challenging than Political Science, my intended major. AND because I aspire to be like Ryan Seacrest one day.

6. I just registered for a Zip car!

7.Queena, Leanne and Jovi taught me how to snowboard.

8. I'll admit that one of my best summer's was spent in the south of France even though I almost died everyday riding my bike up a huge hill to class and then MILES to the beach afterward.

9.I'm turning 20 on March 3 but I act like I'm turning 95.

10.I can't wait to get out of the dorms and hopefully live in this Spanish style mansion I found on craigslist.

11.Chipotle was free last Saturday if you wore Cardinals colors. The only red shirt I had was my 1989 Forty Niners Superbowl XXIV shirt. People looked slightly offended. I kept telling everyone, " This could be the first of the Cardinals legacy, you never know!"

11.5. I'm actually pretty upset that the Steelers won. It was a good game though.

12. I love Wall-e, Eve and Mo. AND anything that has to do with them.

13. I read the Postsecret blog every Sunday morning.

14. I hate the game Dactyl for Iphone,  but it's my competitive nature that tells me I need to have the highest score on it.

15. I know I've said this before, but I believe fashion is a culture in San Francisco, but it's a hobby in Arizona.

16. I've known Ally and her family since we were in Kindergarten! That makes her my oldest friend.

17. Someone once told me I had a "New York State of Mind" when I told them I think about punching people in the back of the head if they're in front of me and walking too slow.

18. I avoid milk in AZ because I think it's weird that it doesn't expire for about 3 months.

It Feels Like Christmas.

This morning I took a walk through the school, well, more like the dorm areas, and I noticed the school has decorated more for the FBR Gold Tournament, but even more for THE SUPERBOWL!! I would definitely do the same if the 49ers were going to the Superbowl for the first time. I would have taken pictures, but it seems that college students see that as weird.

On the otherhand, I did go to a car show today. AND there were actually more MINI Coopers than Hondas. I guess that's how it goes in AZ?

We also celebrate Victoria's 19th birthday today at Maggianos!

Pictures to come.
